Japan stock market finished session steep lower on Wednesday, 07 June 2023, snapping a four-day winning streak, as investors opted to book some of the gains after both the Nikkei and Topix indexes notched 33-year highs. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average index declined 593.04 points, or 1.82%, to finish at 31,913.74. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 45.49 points, or 1.53%, to 2,934.95.
Total 32 of 33 TOPIX sectors declined, with Machinery, Electric Appliances, Pharmaceutical, Precision Instruments, and Insurance issues being notable gainers.
