Singapore Stocks end in green

The Singapore stock market finished session modestly higher after recouping earlier losses on Thursday, 08 June 2023, as investors chased for bottom fishing after declines in the previous session.

However, market gains capped amid cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision next week, after two other central banks hiked theirs on Wednesday. The Australian and Canadian central banks both opted to raise rates.

At closing bell, the Straits Times Index (STI) index was up 7.03 points, or 0.22%, to 3,186.61 after trading between 3,170.21 and 3,186.61. Volume of 1.16 billion shares worth S$899.22 million changed hands. There were 263 gainers and 264 decliners.
