GMR Airports net loss widens to Rs 637 cr in Q4 FY23

Revenue from operations jumped 47.6% year on year (YoY) to Rs 1,894.62 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2022.

The company reported a pre-tax loss of Rs 600.46 crore during the quarter compared with a pre-tax loss Rs 171.29 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year.

During the fourth quarter, EBITDA slipped 49% YoY to Rs 241 crore, primarily due to commencement of revenue share payment to AAI from April 2022.

Total expenses spiked 69.84% YoY to Rs 2,610.55 crore in the quarter ended 31 March 2023. Cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 23.38 crore (down 13.21% YoY), employee benefits expenses was at Rs 266.59 crore (up 38.7% YoY) and other expenses was Rs 719.90 crore (up 63.77% YoY) in Q4 FY23.

On full year basis, the company recorded net loss from continuing operations of Rs 839.93 crore in FY23 as against net loss of Rs 752.31 crore in FY22. Revenue from operations surged 45.49% year on year (YoY) to Rs 6,693.40 crore in the year ended 31 March 2022.

GMR Airports Infrastructure is mainly engaged in development, maintenance and operation of airports, generation of power, coal mining and exploration activities, development of highways, development, maintenance and operation of special economic zones.

The scrip ended 0.24% higher at Rs 45.02 on Friday, 26 May 2023.
